A Little Bit About the Photography
My name is Jane Taylor and I am a wedding photographer based in Hampton, covering Surrey and London, the surrounding counties and wherever it takes me.
As the old saying goes ‘A picture is worth a thousand words’, and this is exactly what I aim to capture in the images from a wedding day, whether it be a hush-hush elopement or a grand gathering. I embrace the techniques of both the photographic trends of today with the tried and true traditional styles of yesteryear, and the result is an elegant and complete ‘picture’ of your very special day.
I work mainly in a documentary style, also known as wedding photojournalism. This is currently a very popular approach to wedding photography and creates a wonderful narrative to a collection of images whilst also capturing those very precious and intimate moments one does not get with the more classically posed images. A wedding day is brimming over with varying emotions and this style of wedding photography really does lend itself to telling your wedding day story beautifully.
Depending on your style and wishes, it may be an idea to include a few classical poses which can instil a timeless quality to the overall feel of your collection of images and/or final album. Whilst browsing through my Mothers wedding album (it’s now over 40 years old, sorry Mum), I was struck by its’ effortless elegance and sublime nature. It really felt like a precious work of art. These more traditional poses add an ageless quality to an album, so although it may gather a shimmer of dust over time, the album will still feel fresh, and gracefully stand the test of time.
Choosing a wedding photographer is not an easy process as it’s not something you do every day, month or year! It is just as important as choosing the perfect dress or venue and is a reflection of your personal style to all. When people look back over their lives their wedding day remains up there as one of their most cherished days, so it is important to have this moment in your life captured and presented in a way that you love. I really care about the whole process from the initial meeting to discuss your wishes, to the requests on the big day and the final gallery and/or album. I absolutely love capturing these special moments and giving permanence to the treasured memories of a wonderful wedding day.
At the end of the day, this is your day and ultimately it is your way.
My intervention is minimal and my coverage discrete, tactful and relaxed. I stay in the background quietly snapping away. Each photograph will be carefully edited so to present crisp, colourful and vibrant images of your day.
THE DAY BELONGS TO YOU
